State justice department

A secure online payment portal on Salesforce for a state justice department

Seers built a PCI DSS aligned online payment portal on Salesforce for a state justice department, integrated with the NSW Customer Payments Platform so no card data is stored, and delivered it to production in six weeks.

The challenge

What they were up against

Business centres were taking credit card payments manually over the phone and by email. That created PCI DSS exposure, relied on EFTPOS terminals with cut-off risk, and gave the department no consistent online way to collect payments.

Our approach

What we did

  • Designed the payment portal architecture on Salesforce, aligned to the department's security, access and payment integration patterns
  • Integrated with the NSW Government Customer Payments Platform (CPP) API for payment initiation, cancellation, tokenised card capture and completion callbacks
  • Built unique invoice payment links sent to customers by email and SMS, with status tracking and an admin portal for customer service staff
  • Configured sub-agency onboarding with separate branding and email templates, digital access controls, multi-approval rules and a full audit trail
  • Supported SIT, UAT and CAB release, and produced the solution design and as-built documentation
The result

What changed

A production PCI DSS aligned payment portal on Salesforce, delivered in six weeks. The same pattern was later applied at a state policing agency.
